Frequently Asked Questions
What is Locky?
Locky is a habit and focus app that blocks the apps and websites you choose until you finish your daily habits. It uses iOS Screen Time to lock apps on your phone and a Chrome extension to block sites on your computer.
Is Locky free?
Locky is free to download and use with basic features. A premium subscription unlocks additional habits, advanced scheduling, and more.
How does the app know I completed a habit?
You can mark habits as done manually, or use photo proof — take a photo and Locky's AI verifies you actually did the habit (e.g. a photo of your made bed for a "Make Bed" habit).
When does my day reset?
Locky's day runs from 3:00 AM to 2:59 AM. This means late-night habit completions still count for the current day.
Can I temporarily unlock my apps?
Yes — you can snooze the lock up to 3 times per day for 10 minutes each. After that, you'll need to complete your habits to unlock.
Do I need both the iOS app and Chrome extension?
No. The iOS app blocks apps on your phone. The Chrome extension is optional and blocks distracting websites on your computer. They share the same account, so completing habits in the app unlocks both.
What happens if I miss a day?
Nothing punitive — Locky doesn't carry over uncompleted habits. Each day is fresh. Your apps will simply stay locked until you complete that day's habits.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your habit data is stored securely in your account. Proof photos are only used for AI verification and are not shared. See our Privacy Policy for details.
