Getting Started with Locky
Everything you need to go from download to your first locked day.
1. Download and sign in
Download Locky from the App Store and sign in with your Google or Apple account. Your account keeps your habits and progress in sync across devices.
2. Choose your habits
During onboarding you'll pick one or two starter habits from templates like Brush Teeth, Make Bed, Exercise, or Read. You can always add, edit, or remove habits later in Settings.
Start small. One or two habits is plenty — you can add more once the routine sticks.
3. Pick the apps to block
Locky uses iOS Screen Time to lock distracting apps. You'll see a picker where you can select the apps you want blocked until your habits are done — social media, games, whatever pulls your attention.
4. Grant Screen Time permission
Locky needs Screen Time access to enforce the block. You'll be prompted to allow this during setup. Without it, Locky can still track habits but won't be able to lock apps.
5. Complete your habits, unlock your apps
Each morning your selected apps are locked. Open Locky, complete your habits (with optional photo proof), and your apps unlock automatically. That's it — a little accountability goes a long way.
Optional: set up the Chrome extension
If you also want to block distracting websites on your computer, install the Locky Chrome extension. It uses the same account, so completing habits on your phone unlocks your browser too.
