Troubleshooting
Running into an issue? Here are fixes for the most common problems.
Apps aren't being blocked
If your selected apps aren't locked when habits are due:
- Open iOS Settings → Screen Time and make sure Screen Time is enabled.
- Check that Locky has the Family Controls / Screen Time permission. You can re-grant this in Locky under Settings → Lock Settings.
- Make sure you've selected at least one app to block in Settings → Blocked Apps.
- Restart Locky. If the issue persists, try restarting your device.
My habits aren't showing up
Habits only appear on the home screen if they're due today based on their cadence. If a habit is set to specific days, check that today is one of those days. You can view all your habits in Settings → Habits.
Photo proof keeps getting rejected
- Make sure the photo clearly shows what the proof description asks for
- Use good lighting — avoid very dark or overexposed shots
- Try a wider angle so the subject is fully visible
- If a habit's proof description is too specific, edit it in Settings → Habits to be more general
Chrome extension isn't blocking sites
- Click the Locky extension icon and make sure you're signed in with the same account as the mobile app.
- Verify you've added at least one domain to your block list.
- Check that the extension badge shows ! — this means blocking is active. If there's no badge, you may have no habits due today.
- Try disabling and re-enabling the extension in chrome://extensions.
Habits completed but apps still locked
There can be a short delay (a few seconds) between completing your last habit and apps unlocking. If it persists beyond 30 seconds:
- Pull down to refresh on the Locky home screen.
- Make sure you're connected to the internet.
- Check that all due habits show as complete (green check).
- Force-quit and reopen Locky as a last resort.
Can't sign in
If you're having trouble signing in with Google or Apple:
- Make sure you have a stable internet connection
- Try the other sign-in method (Apple instead of Google, or vice versa)
- Update Locky to the latest version from the App Store
- If you previously used Apple's "Hide My Email," sign in with Apple again — the same relay address will be used
